Static fretboard diagrams can show where notes are, but they do not provide a guided path for remembering every position or returning to weak spots at the right time.
Mapped all 138 physical string-and-fret positions into a 75-lesson path across nine mastery sections. Built four unambiguous exercise modes with immediate feedback, real-guitar audio, and mistake recycling. Added persistent progress, XP, streaks, stars, per-string mastery, practice history, and weak-spot tracking with Cloudflare D1. Packaged the trainer as an offline-capable progressive web app that can be installed on an iPhone.
Keep adaptive note selection inside the learner's taught range so review stays challenging without introducing positions they have not learned yet. Represent open strings and fretted notes as distinct physical positions even when they share the same pitch class.
Making each exercise's answer contract clear while accurately modelling six strings, open notes, 22 frets, enharmonic spellings, and repeated pitches across the neck. Keeping progress useful across short mobile practice sessions, offline use, and later account-backed sessions.
Fretwise is a private, installable PWA with a complete 75-lesson learning path, adaptive review, offline support, and persistent mastery tracking across the full 22-fret neck.
